Leon Anders and Aldan Walker

[Jak]

"I didn't tell them anything... I didn't... I didn't tell them" Leon just repeated this over and over, his voice very hoarse.

Aldan panted as soldiers had him backed into a corner. Using his wings, Aldan leapt over them and started running again.

[Rifter]

Swinging himself to the ground, Kal groaned in pain as his wings clipped the trunk of the tree, "That's it." He said through clenched teeth, "I'm grounded."

[Rynn]

"It's ok. We'll get you out of here." Valene cut through the bonds. She took off her cloak and got it on Leon. "Hold the front of the cloak closed." She ordered. She helped Leon up. "Ok, we're going to walk for a few seconds for you, then we'll start jogging." She started walking out of there, Leon at one arm and the sword in the other hand.

[Jak]

Leon shivered at Valene's touch, but did as instructed. Thanks to swelling around his left eye it was difficult for Leon to see

[Rynn]

"Ok, we have to start jogging, and we'll have to go faster as we progress. We need to get out of here." Valene started to jog. She didn't like having Leon running right this instant, but the sooner they can get out of here, the sooner they can help Leon.

The gate was now visible. They were almost there. But it seems the distractions were weakening as soldiers came after them.

"Oh man... Leon, stay here." She whipped the sword in front of her and swung at the coming soldiers. She hit a couple, but there were more. She started to sword fight with them. Metal clanged against metal. "This... is not good."

[Jak]

Aldan saw Valene and ran for her. Using his wings he sent soldiers flying and yelled "grab Leon, I'll watch your backs!"

[Rynn]

Valene, sword locked with another soldier and his sword, turned to the voice, but realized too late she shouldn't have. The soldier took the opportunity and punched her in the face. She feel back to the ground, but still having a grip on the sword, she whipped it in front of her blocking the soldier slicing down with his sword.

She kicked his stomach and he toppled backwards. She jumped onto her feet and grabbed Leon. "C'mon!" She started to run for the gate again.

[Jak]

Finally escaping the camp, Aldan called "just keep running!"

[Rifter]

Kal groaned as he slowly got up and leaned carefully against the tree, waiting for the others, he hoped that they were coming this way.

[Rynn]

Valene held on to Leon's arm with one hand as they ran. Even if she had to drag him they would get out of there.

They finally reached the gates and passed through. She ran until she saw Kal. "So glad you're alive!"

[Rifter]

Still gritting his teeth, "Good to see you too, Valene, Aldan. Hello...Leon." His voice clearly held a tone of pain.

[Rynn]

Valene turned to Aldan. "How are you feeling?"

[Jak]

Leon fell to his knees. He couldn't run anymore, it hurt too much. Everything hurt. He tightened the grip on the cloak as he caught his breath.

[Rynn]

Valene knelt beside Leon. "Oh geez... Aldan, how are you feeling? One of us needs to help Leon, and the other can help Kal."

[Jak]

Aldan scooped up Leon in his arms, concern in his eyes as Leon whimpered in pain, and said "you take care of Kal. When he's ready we should go farther"

[Rynn]

Valene went over to Kal. She wrapped an arm around him, her shoulder under his arm. "We'll get farther and camp for the night." She looked at the horizon, noticing the sun barely peaking out. "Well, for the day I should say."

((I guessed that it's almost day light seeing as they had to travel to get Leon, and Leon took quite a beating before hand))

[Rifter]

Pushing away from Valene, "I can walk, but please, don't expect me to fly much after this." He expanded his wings, allowing the slight beams of moonlight to reveal the bloody holes in his wings.

[Jak]

Leon continued mumbling his mantra from the camp, and Aldan hushed him with a soothing "it's alright, we knew you wouldn't. You did well, now rest"

[Rynn]

As they were walking, Valene handed Kal the sword. "Thanks for letting me use this. It really helped a lot."

[Rifter]

Taking the sword, he sheathed it, "You're quite welcome."

[Jak]

When they finally got a good distance away Aldan busied himself with preparing a camp. Leon was left to sit against a tree while Aldan worked. The poor boy was bruised all over, his ankles and wrists were bloodied from where the restraints dug into his skin during his struggling, one eye was black and the other had swelling around it, making it hard for Leon to open it.

[Rifter]

Kal helped Aldan set up camp, he kept his wings we out of the way, they were already in enough pain. Looking over at Leon, "Hey, Leon? Thanks for giving me a hand back there. I appreciate it."

[Rynn]

Valene grabbed wood and sticks and dug a bit of a ditch to set up a fire. She set up the wood, then softly blew fire on it, starting a fire. "Alright, now we can have warmth. And hopefully food... I'm starving."

[Jak]

Aldan went to Leon's side and placed his jacket over him, saying "it seems he is still delirious from... whatever they did to him." Aldan sighed and said "I shall go hunt for some food, perhaps gather what we need for broth for Leon" and with that he set out.

[Rifter]

Kal sighed as he looked over his wings, "That roof and those soldiers did a damn number on my wings. I'm glad that the membrane's scabbed now. I hope the holes will heal..."
