[Jak]

Hermia waited at the north boundary, she wore her winged sandals and held a celestial bronze spear. The spear was a 'gift from Uncle Zeus'.

[Rifter]

Arriving at the boundary, he saw Hermia, "You ready? Only the Oracle knows what's out there." He lofted Riptide to his shoulder.

[Jak]

Hermia nodded and extended her hand, saying "We need to go as fast as possible. Leave the running to me"

[Rifter]

"Jeez..." He rolled his eyes as he put his hand in Hermia's.

[Jak]

The moment Hermia held Jason's hand she was off, faster than a Pegasus, toward the sounds of battle.

When they finally found Alastor and the descendant they saw Alastor wasn't fairing well. He was fighting against two Chimera, a Manticore, and two Lamia. Alastor was surrounded by the Chimera and Manticore while the two Lamia fought over the descendant, pulling him back and forth between the two.

The descendant barely looked human. What wasn't covered with a gaping wound was black with bruises.

Alastor dispatched of the two Chimera, but was distracted when Hermia called out without thinking "ALASTOR!" He turned around and before he could react the Manticore had him in its jaws by his right shoulder.

[Rifter]

Leaping over the bank, Jason drove his heels into the side of the Manticore's head, causing it to roar loudly and let go of Alastor. Back flipping off of the Manticore, he bellowed, "HERMIA! GET ALASTOR!"

Landing on the ground, he dashed towards the two Lamia, narrowly dodging one of their tails as it whipped down at him. Snarling, he drove Riptide through the chainmail of the other Lamia. Ripping out the blade, he used the momentum to grab the descendant and fling him onto his back and slice through the remaining Lamia's waist.

Hermia went to Alastor, horrified by all the blood on him, and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. This slowed her running(well, slow for her) a bit, but they were able to get away from the Manticore. Alastor mumbled something and relayed to Jason "Jack and Chiron are still out here! There was half an army of monsters after this child!"

[Rifter]

Jason grit his teeth as he dodged the stab of the Manticore's tail and drove Riptide through it's jaw, "Gotta get him past the boundary!" He knew that once the descendant was past the boundary, the monsters would never get him.

Grinding his teeth he ran after Hermia, Styx.... He mentally cursed.

[Jak]

It didn't take long to reach the boundary, but both Alastor and the descendant were losing blood fast. Hermia tripped just outside of the boundary and ended up landing on Alastor, causing the older man to cough blood. Hermia quickly got him up again and repeated over and over "I'msorrywe'realmostthereholdonstayawake!"

The descendant reached a hand toward Alastor, Then a sudden string connected the two. Alastor was no better, but there was a sudden knowledge that his time was extended.

((One of Keeran's gifts, and the only one he can control. This string temporarily gives the person on the other end the will to survive that only a descendant of Hades has))

[Rifter]

As Jason ran, not noticing the string, all he could think about was getting the descendant past the boundary line. The adrenaline was beginning to die down and he was beginning to feel the muscle burn, or rather, inferno.

In the distance, he could see the shimmering air that marked the boundary line. Grinding his teeth, he tried to put on an extra burst of speed.

Finally, they crossed the boundary. Jason began to slow down as he approached the infirmary.

[Jak]

As they all got to the infirmary Bodie sprang into action. He already had beds prepared and supplies ready and on-hand. Bodie first worked on the descendant. Once they were in a better condition he jumped to Alastor. He went back and forth like this until both were fully treated. The string that connected the two vanished as Alastor healed.

[Rifter]

Jason collapsed on the floor next to a chair, exhaustion pounding through his entire body. What he hadn't realized was that the Manticore had managed to score a hit of him, it's claws rending open the side of his armour and leaving fairly deep gashes in his skin. He breathed out heavily, straining to keep his head from hitting the floor.

[Jak]

Bodie, without hesitation, went to Jason and began patching him up. He had Hermia laying on a spare bed already. She was fine, just very tired from all the excitment.

[Rifter]

Jason cracked his right eye open, "Tha...nks Bodie." He gasped as his body came to terms with the now-realized pain.

[Jak]

As Bodie worked he held a root in front of Jason and said "chew. This will help with the pain"

[Rifter]

Jason chewed on the root without complaint, he knew to trust Bodie from the number of times he ended up in the infirmary from Jack being too overbearing during training.

[Jak]

Bodie finished treating Jason and said "it ist tended to, but I suggest avoiding strenuous activities"

[Rifter]

Jason cracked a pained grin, "I'll try to keep that in mind. Has Chiron come back yet?"

[Jak]

"Nein. No. But Jack has, und with fewer injuries than Alastor. Be prepared for a fight between the two when Alastor ist healed"

[Rifter]

Jason grinned slightly as he lay his head back on the pillow, "How's the descendant doing?"

[Jak]

Bodie checked the descendant and said "still in a critical state, although he ist getting better at a decent rate"

[Rifter]

Jason grinned, "Well... That's good. Wouldn't want my heroics to go to waste."

[Jak]

"..." Bodie looked blankly at Jason, then asked with a puzzled gaze "that ist... sarcasm... right?"

[Rifter]

"So of. You know I'm not big into being a hero. Though, looking back at that fight, I...kinda slipped into that role... Bah." Jason sank a little back into the bed.

[Jak]

Bodie seemed to struggle with what Jason said as he replied "I... see." He looked over at Alastor and said sadly "Alastor... ist much like a father or elder bruder to most people at camp. Everyone goes to him when they need a shoulder to cry on or someone to confide in. But... I wonder if he has anyone... as far as I know, only Chiron truly knows everything about Alastor. Even Hermia knows nothing, und she hears things she does not wish to hear on a daily basis"
