Good god, it took WAY too long for me to setup my laptop the way I wanted. I just got Windows 7 setup, since my laptop didn't have a CD drive it was a complete PITA to install a disk image to a spare USB I had lying around the house and actually get the damn thing to install the OS. Now just to install all of the apps I want. Whew...

F*ck. Guess who gets the "Dumbass of Year" award? Yep. Me. Why? I was cleaning up some old files on my external hard drive and I managed to delete the folder containing the folder that contained all of the stories I have been working on. That INCLUDES "A New Friend," "A.N.G.E.L," and a few of my "fallback stories" that I work on to act as a stimulator of sorts just to get the juices flowing for my main projects.

And to add insult to injury, I can't recover the data as I was feeding everything I was deleting from my external hard drive through a shredder program in an attempt to fix what appeared to be my EHDD losing readable memory.

Oh and now my laptop is being an idiot and refusing to connect to either of the Wi-Fi networks here, secure or public, and guess what? When I run the diagnostic tool to figure out what the hell the problem is, it tells me that Windows can't identify the problem.

Scratch that. Damn thing finally decides to work. *sigh* So far, today's shaping up to be a completely crap-tastic day.

Actually.... Maybe it's not as bad as I made it out to be. I lost the motivation to work on some of them, several were still in the planning stages, and A New Friend deserved a bit of a rewrite anyways.

It does, but it was my own stupidity that landed me here. *sigh* Eh, I'll live. Like I said, some of them were still in the planning stages and ANF deserved a from-the-ground-up rewrite anyhow, the documents I had were getting a little messy. But on the other hand, this was probably one of my greater blunders. Eh. Everyone makes mistakes.

(In case it wasn't obvious, I'm trying to be optimistic about this.)

Bah. I'm going drive some lead through this forum software one of these days.... For reasons beyond me (oddly enough) it aggravates me to no end when I see incorrect "last post" timestamps on the front page of the forum before I log in (bearing in mind that when I have to log in, I'm using my tablet. I have my laptop set to log me in automatically as soon as I click the bookmark).

...Come to think about it, this might be my OCD talking again....

Yay! After "fighting" with my hard drive for well over three days, I've finally managed to shrink the stupid Windows partition down to 100GB. That was WAY harder than it should've been.

Anyhow, Hazen? "Random" question: How well acquainted are you with the game League of Legends? Specifically the champions.

Alright, never mind then. Sorry about that; if I seemed to be rather tactless with that, then I'm sorry, I'm still working on tact (serious WIP right now).

Anyhow, to change the topic, I've finally managed to set up Windows and Xubuntu how I wanted on my hard drive, now to create a shared partition for my files and then I'm done.... Can I shoot Intel for developing UEFI and Secure Boot the way they did? It was a PITA.

S'ok, though has nothing to do with tact. In this case there are two options: explain LoL to try and spark interest, or simply let it go. Honestly, I think it's always best to try the first option because unless the person you're talking to is having a bad day you can usually spark at least a little interest
