Hosa and Denahi

[Jak]

Denahi chuckled, but suddenly went pale and fell back. Hosa rushed to him and said "Ack! I completely forgot about his injuries!"

As she removed his shirt he joked "h-hey... aren't you a bit young to be stripping men? Priests will... ask the goddess for forgiveness in your favor" Hosa smacked Denahi in the head and said "I'll have you know I'm 18!" Addressing Lucas, Hosa asked "can you help me? I need you to keep him up so I can treat him properly"

[Rifter]

Lucas complied by kneeling behind Denahi and propping him up against his knee, ignoring the traded quips, he got the sense that this occurred fairly frequently.

[Jak]

"y-y'know this... isn't necessary," Denahi tried to explain "no one would blame ya for ignoring me... heh heh... you'd be better off in the long run... live longer to..."

[Rifter]

"Question is, would you rather fall in back among the Chasers?" Lucas shifted ever so slightly to balance Denahi a bit better.

[Jak]

Denahi clenched his teeth and bit back a yelp as Hosa began working on his arm. It was severed near the shoulder, almost none of his arm was left. Denahi managed to reply "I don't give two shits about the Chasers... They can all rot... if not for them... if not for them..."

"Almost done" Hosa said, trying to give Denahi comfort in the fact that the pain would soon end. But, a different pain plagued him.

[Rifter]

Lucas rolled his eyes, once more choosing to keep his mouth shut.

[Jak]

When Hosa looked at Denahi's stone she stuttered "h-how were they... removing the Kokoro Stones?" Denahi chuckled, immediately regretting it as it sent pain to his stomach, and said "how else? Stick your hand in, remove the fleshy bits, leave the body to rot." Hosa swallowed hard as she went to treat the injury. She flinched every time Denahi gasped in pain. She read about the other elements, even treated a Wind Kokoro user before, but because so few Fire Kokoro users survive the creation, and those that do usually want nothing to do with others, there was little information on them.

"I-is it... just pain?" Hosa asked, wanting to make sure she wasn't killing the man. Denahi grinned and waved his hand, saying "nah Doc. All Kokoro users are wusses when it comes to their stones. I bet even Chatty here would cry if ya hit his stone." Deciding it was a good distraction, Hosa continued the conversation "why do you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Give everyone nicknames?"
"Your real name is special. To let others call you by your real name is to let them closer than you realize. I let someone that close and I'm still suffering for it"
"I... see... I think. A-anyway, why do you sniff people? Is it to smell if they have a good soul or something?"
"Nothing so deep. It's just a wanderers trick. If you recognize scents you can find allies faster and avoid enemies better"
"So... what do I smell like to you? I don't smell anything"
"You smell like gauze and medical herbs"
"What about Lucas?"
"Too much smoke, couldn't get a good whiff"
Hosa finished bandaging Denahi and said "done. Will we be safe here, or are you ok to walk a bit farther?" Denahi got up, a bit unsteady, but gave a thumbs up and said "I'm a stubborn killer"

[Rifter]

Lucas said nothing as he stood up himself, turning slightly he looked northwest, he quickly stopped himself, No, no. They aren't chasing you, calm down... He thought to himself.

[Jak]

Denahi started sniffing the air. Then it dawned on him. Without a word he stripped everything on him that had blood on it. He explained "I left a blood trail! The KC are using dogs to sniff us out! Get rid of everything that has blood on it! Quick!"

Hosa removed her coat and left it with Denahi's pile of clothes, asking "where will we go?" Denahi shook his head and said "anywhere, just run!"

[Rifter]

Lucas looked around, fortunately he had managed to remain spotless, "I know of a series of cave a distance from here. We can hid there. There's a boulder nearby the opening we can use to hide the entrance!" He began moving towards the caves, hoping that the others would follow him.

[Jak]

Hosa and Denahi followed Lucas, now depending on his lead.

[Rifter]

Lucas led them to the opening of a mid-size cave set in the side of a tall hill, the mentioned boulder sat a few feet away from the entrance.

[Jak]

Hosa entered the cave first, followed by a rather pale Denahi.

[Rifter]

Lucas sat down on one of the flatter rocks, crossing his legs he made a sound similar to a horse.

[Jak]

Hosa stayed close to the entrance, keeping an eye out for pursuers.

Meanwhile, Denahi wiggled what was left of his arm, seemingly amused by the injury.

[Rifter]

Lucas eyed Denahi, Simple minds, simple pleasures? He thought to himself.

[Jak]

Denahi chuckled and said "I think we're safe now, I don't smell anything anymore. It's a lot easier to relax when you're safe." Hosa looked over at Denahi and said "would you stop wiggling that thing? It's unnerving!" Denahi stopped, smiled slyly at Hosa and said "a doctor should be able to handle something as minor as this"
"M-minor? YOU HAVE NO ARM LEFT!"
"'Tis a flesh wound"
"This is serious!"
"I know"
"Then why aren't you acting like it is?!"
Denahi sighed and said "stress is a killer. I should know, I caused three people to die from it"

[Rifter]

"It is a flesh wound, in the strictest sense, but isn't in the broadest sense." Lucas didn't even crack the slightest grin at his statement.

[Jak]

Hosa sighed, then asked "so what are you going to do for clothes? You left everything but your boxers." Denahi scratched the back of his head and replied "well... I'll just have to make do 'til it's safe to travel. Then I'll either get something from a kind stranger like before, or go to my stash of survival needs"

[Rifter]

Lucas looked out past the entrance of the cave, his eyes glazing over slightly, something was bugging him, but he couldn't place what it was.

[Jak]

"You ok?" Denahi asked

[Rifter]

Snapping to, Lucas nodded, "Something's just getting at me, but I have no idea what. Probably isn't important."

[Jak]

Hosa decided to pitch in and asked "any idea where we should go now?"

[Rifter]

Lucas stared at the cave wall, his mind raging, finally he spoke, "To defeat the Chasers, we need to find someone who supports us and loathes them... Unfortunately, I've been a slave for much of my life and know relatively little of the land. Our best bet would be to rest here for the night, and then set out in the morning in a direction that takes us away from the Chasers' headquarters. We'll be wanting to put as much distance between us and them as we can."

[Jak]

Denahi chuckled "if we're gonna defeat The Kiseki Chasers we'll need an army, or a really good team"
